Online Presence

Our business Chomp is the epitome of F.I.S.T.

Fast

Inexpensive

Simple

Tiny.

  • A particular pattern of decision making that supports rapid, low-cost innovations.

We tackled the concept of F.I.S.T by brain-storming an idea with an easy solution.

We have created several different free and easily accessible social media account such as Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr and twitter which has allowed us to post our content online as well as receive feedback/suggestion from our audience on what content they would like us to post next.

The feedback we have received along with the video we created has further reassured us that we are targeting the right market – University students between the ages of 18-20.

Now that are target market has been narrowed down we are able to form a more personal connection with our audience, which will result in more meaningful and fulfilling content for our consumers.

The Design Thinking guide suggest that, “to create meaningful innovations, you need to know your users and care about their lives.” I think this is such a true statement because if we can incorporate are consumers needs and wants in the early stages it will not only keep the consumer happy but it also allows for potential growth in our following as they could recommend our brand to other people. This is such a simple, yet effective way to optimise our brand and lead to a successful DA.

Fail often- fail early.

The concept of ‘FOFE” is an inevitable cycle where you are constantly learning from your mistakes. Although this is frustrating its always good to remember that this will alone improve your end product. I came across an article from the Washington post which further empathised this idea.

“Small failures are okay, as long as they lead to future success.”

As mentioned, before we had created quite a few social media accounts. And after doing a quick survey on Instagram we found out that no one used/ had a Tumblr account. So this has saved us a lot of time as we’ve decided to ditch our tumblr account and are now able to put more effort into our other accounts.

To get continuous inspiration we’ve set up a reedit and pintrest account which allows us to follow people who are specifically interested in our field of healthy eating/ cooking recipes. This type of exposure only fuels us to be more creative with our ideas but we’ve also found that it is a place where we can ask questions or receive tips from people which will only benefit our DA.

Overall, ideation is about encouraging crazy ideas and giving them a go. We have high hopes for our digital artefact and are super excited to produce content that people love. This module has taught us how to communicate with our audience and understanding the steps that lead to a making a successful product.
